when Ganguly comes back on to the field there are ppl who fall over his feet.
our nation is a place where we show high amounts of gratitude to evrything .we made Sun as god, tree as god ,stones as god, actors as matinee idols, men as God.and the same day when godguly
is back i have met a person who call himself God "aham Brahmasmi" --Naan kadavul/nenu devunni--A film by Bala. Here is the film maker who completely contrasted the context. He made the Disturbing,Dark cinema(Pithamagan,Naan kadavul) ever in the Indian Cinema.
i completely fell for his conceiving the idea, portraying it.He is the best for me among tamil, telugu directors. The movie is based on a tamil novel "The Seventh World"(title in english),it stands par to world cinema.
The film protaganist is Rudra (Arya) who is an aghora calls himself as God(kaal bhairav) smokes Opium and meditates.Arya suited the role with his towering personality.Rudra(Arya) speaks very few times ,but every time he speaks its philosophy. Though the movie is named abt Rudra, its not just abt him,its more abt God .I just liked the way story begins, progresses and forms.
The movie centres about child trafficking and beggars. There are many disabled, deformed, dwarfs too acted in.The way they performed makes the movie so pure.
and the story is in particular about blind girl(Hamsavalli)done by pooja(remember teacher in Orange),she was really responsible for the soul of movie.
there are metaphors too:gash in preclimax to Rudra resembling Lord Shiva's third eye.
and the relation b/n people and beggars, babas .Both are given money so as to clear their(people) sins.
the best dialogues :hamsavalli in the climax scene, fewlines spoken by Rudra, the cynnical words by the dwarf beggars ,scene in police station, and the court scene.
and the best addition to Bala's making is ilayaraja's BGM.
it is bold film making, where he points many issues.
but i have few concerns why it was named so,also there is uncertainity for me to make rudra as
deux ex machina and probably i felt there were censor cuts.
i respect Bala and his making. waiting for vaadu veedu(Avan Ivan).
